Online pay dating sites seems broken

I have been asked recently about dating sites and how do I find woman that are interested. This is a tricky question since the online world has evolved from my early bbs chat days. Back then it was new and exciting and you can hide behind a screen name.

Now a days it is big bucks with more and more of the 100% guarantee sites popping up. Do they work?  Can you actually score from those sites? To be honest the answer is as clear as mud.

The few free sites, and I do mean few,  seem to have some popularity although one of late has denied married couples to participate. I won’t mentioned names but there is no fishing allowed on that site by married couples. This was the first site I tried. I met two girls from it one crazy and the other a good friend now. This is after hours and hours of hoping a girl responds.

We have also tried paid sites, one specifically for swinging. Few lucky hits but nothing really panned out. Well okay my first swinging experience was from this site but that is another story (mental note to start writing that).  The site is decent but it is heavily favoured to city populations. Big city better odds. Small city well you are travelling a lot.

Now to the paid dating sites. The common scheme is free to sign up but to have any interactions requires payment. As I mentioned above on the free sites girls don’t respond so how can I justify paying with potential no action. Luck has it that today doing a quick search I found supposedly a top site. To sacrifice myself I signed up and yep it requires pay to talk. This site does have a 3 day pass which I have not seen on any others. Well, I’m a sucker for punishment so I tried it. Let me break down the experience of an hour or so.

As soon as I signed up you are flooded with notifications. Girls ranging from 22 to 55 asking to chat and that they like you. This went on from 7 am and was a constant flood. At about 9 am I paid for the three day pass. I sent off two messages and a few winks and guess how many notifications I have gotten since paying. Zero. None. Nil. Not one.

This leads me to believe, which I have for a while that they are bots. Scripts that will work to get you to pay but once you do it stops. And since I doubt there are that many real people on there it seems like all other sites are a scam. Did I lose money sure. The $5 I dropped is not much but can you imagine if I spent more. Most sites want over $25 per month.

I will see how the next 24 hrs goes but if I am correct this will end up being as I suspected. Waste of time. So what does a person do instead?

Social media is the answer. For the past couple of years I have been on Twitter. Using an alias sweetgunnar I have been meeting like minded couples and singles. The beauty is that you have to interact. There is no wink or ping. How much you expose is up to you. And for some it is pretty wide open on what they say and show.

So for those that are looking good luck. Online really doesn’t exist as an option with doing research. Stick with social media or the old fashion hangouts.  Save your money and don’t buy into the hype of the online dating world.
